- On your mail server’s Overview page, click Show (the eye icon) next to the admin account’s password.
- Click Open Webmail and sign in with the full admin email, such as
[email protected]. - Create mailboxes for your staff and email groups in the admin area of Webmail, then send each person their email address and password.
Set up a mail app on a phone or computer (IMAP and SMTP)
Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail, Thunderbird and other mail apps: add an account, choose IMAP (not POP3) and enter:
| Setting | Incoming mail (IMAP) | Outgoing mail (SMTP) |
|---|---|---|
| Server | imap.thailandhosting.com | smtp.thailandhosting.com |
| Port | 993 (SSL/TLS) or 143 (STARTTLS) | 465 (SSL/TLS) or 587 (STARTTLS) |
| Username | The full email address, such as [email protected] | The same as incoming |
| Password | That mailbox’s password | The same as incoming |
With IMAP, mail, folders and read status stay the same on every device and in Webmail. Other systems that only send email (a website form, a printer) need just the SMTP settings.
If something goes wrong
The app says “Sender address rejected: not owned by user”
A mailbox can send only as itself. Set the sender (From) address in the app or system to the same address as the username.
The app says it cannot connect or the password is wrong
Check that the username is the full email address, the ports match the security type (993 with SSL/TLS, 143 with STARTTLS) and the account type is IMAP. After several wrong passwords, sign-in is paused for 15 minutes.
The admin password in the Console doesn’t work for Webmail
If you changed the password in Webmail, the Console doesn’t know the new one. Click Reset password on the overview page (every device that’s signed in will be signed out).
If I stop the mail server, is email sent during that time lost?
Not right away. The sender’s server keeps it and tries again for a while. Start your mail server again as soon as you can.
I can’t delete the main domain
The mail server’s first domain can’t be deleted on its own. You have to delete the whole service.
