A database we look after for you, so you just connect and use it
Pick PostgreSQL, MySQL or MariaDB, choose a size and a disk, and take the connection details straight into your app. The password is generated for you. Made for apps your team writes, back offices such as ERP or POS, and databases moving off a server you used to run yourself.
Sized for the job
- Engines: PostgreSQL 16–18, MySQL 8.0 / 8.4 or MariaDB 10.11 / 11.4.
- Sizes: Micro to X-Large, on SSD or HDD up to 1,000 GB. Need more? Ask for it in a ticket.
- Size the server up or down later (the database restarts once); disks can grow but not shrink.
- Read replicas: up to 5 per database, and promote a replica to a writable primary when you need to.
- Set engine flags from the Console, and use Studio to browse tables and run SQL without installing anything.
Backups and safe connections
- Automatic backups every 6 hours, 12 hours, daily or weekly, keeping 1–90 of them.
- Take a backup yourself before big changes. Manual backups are kept 90 days and can be extended for free; restore from the Console.
- Services in the same Project always connect privately over the VPC by internal DNS name, so the data never crosses the internet.
- Link the database to a Container and DATABASE_URL and the other connection settings are set in your app for you.
- Need to connect from outside? Turn on a TLS public endpoint and allow up to 50 IP addresses or ranges.
Easy to move in, pay for what you use
- Import a pg_dump or mysqldump file from the Console, no larger than the disk (50 GB at most).
- Billed by the hour for vCPU, RAM and disk, from the Project’s wallet in US dollars.
- Micro with a 10 GB SSD starts at about $5.99 a month if it runs all month, at the rates on the pricing page.
- Backup storage is $0.06 per GB-month; a read replica costs the same as the primary’s server and disk.
- Servers and backups are in Thailand (Bangkok).
Frequently asked questions
How much does a managed database cost?
It is billed by the hour for the server size, disk and backup storage you actually use. The smallest size (Micro) with a 10 GB SSD is about $5.99 a month if it runs all month. Price other sizes on the pricing page.
Where is my data stored?
The database servers and their backups are in Thailand, in Bangkok.
Can I move my database from my current server?
Yes. Export it with pg_dump or mysqldump and import it in the Import tab. The file must be no larger than the database’s disk, and 50 GB at most.
How often are backups taken, and how do I restore one?
Choose anything from every 6 hours to weekly and keep up to 90, and take a backup yourself whenever you like. Restore from the Backups tab in the Console.
Do you have Redis too?
Yes. Redis and Valkey are in Managed Cache, a separate service sized by RAM from 512 MB to 8 GB.
