Build sites for many clients with separate bills, separate teams, and a clean handover
Hosting bills for different clients get mixed up, passwords get passed around, and handing a site over is a chore. Give each client their own Project, let your team sign in with their own accounts, and when the job is done, transfer the whole Project to your client’s account.
One Project per client
- One client, one Project. Each Project has its own plan, billing cycle and wallet, so one client’s costs never mix with another’s.
- An account can hold 10 Projects. If you need more, contact us to ask for a higher limit.
- Or keep your clients’ sites in one Project on the Business plan, $16.00 a month: 4 sites, plus as many extra sites as you need at $3.90 each a month.
- The Starter plan can add up to 3 extra sites at $3.50 each a month.
- Move a site between Projects of the same account; its content, domains and shop data go with it.
Work as a team without sharing passwords
- Invite your team to a Project by email with one of 5 roles: Owner, Admin, Editor, Operator or Viewer.
- Give a client or an outside freelancer access to a single site only, as a collaborator who can edit and publish or only view (paid plans).
- Everyone signs in with their own account and can turn on two-step verification.
- Build shops, food ordering or bookings for clients with Business Apps. Your clients are paid into their own accounts, with 0% commission.
Hand the work over to your client
- Transfer the whole Project to your client’s account; the sites and services in it move together.
- Both sides confirm: you start with your password (and two-step code if it is on), your client gets a link by email and accepts from their own account within 72 hours.
- Before the transfer, the Project wallet must be empty (move the balance to another of your Projects first) with nothing owed. Past top-ups and tax invoices stay with the account that paid them.
- You can choose to stay on as an Admin to look after the site. Once your client accepts, plan fees come out of the wallet they top up themselves.
Frequently asked questions
How do I hand a website over to my client?
Your client signs up for their own account, then you start a Project transfer to their email. They open the link in the email and confirm from their own account within 72 hours. Every site and service in the Project moves over.
Can my client pay for the website themselves?
Yes. Each Project has its own wallet. Once the Project is in your client’s account, they top up and pay the plan themselves. Money never moves between accounts, so move any balance out before the transfer.
Can I keep looking after the site after the handover?
Yes. When you start the transfer you can choose to stay on as an Admin, or your client can invite you to the Project later with the role they choose.
How many client sites can I build?
The Business plan gives 4 sites per Project, and you can add as many extra sites as you need at $3.90 each a month. An account holds 10 Projects, and you can contact us to ask for more.
