Sign-in page: guest contacts, promotions and selling passes

Let the Hotspot box’s sign-in page collect guest contacts, promote your services and sell Wi-Fi by itself

Ask guests for an email or phone number

  1. Open the location’s Sign-in page tab
  2. Under Guest contact, choose email, phone or either, and whether it is required
  3. Write your own consent wording if you like; left empty, the page words it in the guest’s language. Click Save
  • Guests see a consent box for news apart from the terms of use, and it is never ticked for them
  • The list is on the Guests tab: filter to those who agreed and download a CSV (Project Owners and Admins only)
  • When a guest asks to stop, click Stop news; when they ask to be deleted, click Delete. Staff cannot agree for a guest
  • The list is kept apart from the Computer Crime Act log, and guests not seen for 2 years are deleted on their own

Promotions

Under Promotions, click Add a promotion and give a title, details, a picture and a link (https://), up to 3. Cards show under the form and after sign-in; links work once the guest is online

Sell Wi-Fi passes on the sign-in page

  1. Link the location to a website with Business Apps and turn on Wi-Fi for customers (see the Wi-Fi codes article)
  2. In Business Apps › Menu, turn on Sell as a Wi-Fi pass on items such as 2 hours or 1 day (items with choices are not shown on the page)
  3. On the Sign-in page tab › Sell Wi-Fi passes, turn on Sell on the sign-in page and click Save
  • Guests tap No code? Buy Wi-Fi, pick a pass, then scan the shop’s PromptPay (or LaoQR) QR or choose to pay at the front desk
  • The order lands on the shop’s order board with a Wi-Fi tag and stays off the kitchen display
  • Once the staff click Payment received, the guest’s page gets them online and shows the code for their other devices. The receipt prints the same code

Transfers are not checked automatically. Staff must see the money in the account before clicking Payment received

All of this works with our Hotspot box; your own router’s sign-in page (such as MikroTik’s) does not have it. The page speaks 7 languages: Thai, English, Lao, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian

If something goes wrong

The sign-in page shows no link to buy Wi-Fi

Check that selling is on, that a menu item without choices is sold as a Wi-Fi pass, that the shop has PromptPay or takes cash, and that the Hotspot box is online and up to date. The Sign-in page tab says what is missing
