- Go to the Managed Email Server menu and click Create mail server.
- Enter a service name and service ID (a-z, 0-9 and hyphens, 3–38 characters; it can’t be changed later).
- Enter the Email domain, such as
example.com, and the admin mailbox name (defaultadmin). - Choose a plan, then click Create mail server.
| Plan | Mailbox storage (to start) | Messages sent per month |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 10 GB | 5,000 |
| Business | 50 GB | 25,000 |
| Growth | 200 GB | 100,000 |
Every plan is one domain on one mail server; a second domain is a second service. You can raise the mailbox storage when you create it and later.
The server starts at the plan’s own size, which leaves room for webmail and mail apps to stay quick; you can pick another size when you create it and later. To save money pick Economy (0.25 vCPU · 512 MB), the cheapest size: it suits a few mailboxes and takes messages up to 20 MB each (25 MB on the other sizes).
The quota counts only mail that leaves the platform each month (mail to domains we host doesn’t count). With extra sending on, messages past the quota cost $0.20 per 1,000; with it off, they wait in the queue until the next month.
You can create it when the project’s wallet holds enough to pay for all the project’s services for at least 24 hours after it’s created (see Not enough money in your wallet).
