Create a bucket and an access key

A bucket holds your files. An access key lets an app or a tool reach them.

  1. Go to the Object Storage menu and click Create bucket.
  2. Enter a Bucket name (a-z, 0-9, dots and hyphens, 3–63 characters). Names are unique across the platform, so pick something specific, such as yourshop-uploads. Choose the Region and create it.
  3. Click Create access key, give it a name such as backup-server, and choose what it may do (see the next article).
  4. Copy the Access key ID, the Secret access key and the Endpoint. The secret is shown only once.

Each region’s endpoint is https://objects.thailandhosting.com/<region> (the API is at …/<region>/v1). S3 tools use https://objects.thailandhosting.com with the region set to <region>.

To try it without code, open the bucket with Browse files and click Upload files. The Console uploads files up to 100 MB; use the AWS CLI, rclone or an SDK for larger ones.

Give each app or server its own key, limited to what it needs. If one leaks, you revoke just that key.

Creating a bucket needs money in the project’s wallet. If the project is suspended for an unpaid balance, files can still be listed and deleted (so you can lower the bill), but not read or written until you top up.

If something goes wrong

It says the bucket name is already taken

Bucket names are shared by everyone on the platform. Add your company or project name, such as acme-backups.

I lost the secret access key

It cannot be shown again. Create a new key, update your app, then revoke the old key.

The Console will not upload a large file

The Console takes files up to 100 MB. Use the AWS CLI, rclone or one of the SDKs, which upload large files in parts.

I cannot delete a bucket because it still has files

Delete the files first, or choose Delete with all files. The files are removed in the background and stop being billed as they go.
