- Go to Websites, pick the website and click Settings > General tab > Move project (for Static Web, the Settings tab).
- Choose the destination project. A project that can’t take the website shows why, so you can fix it first.
- Read what will change, tick the box, enter your password (and your two-step verification code if it’s on), type the website’s slug and click Move website.
You must be an owner or admin of both the current and the destination project. To give a website to another account, move the whole project instead. The account owner gets an email every time a website is moved.
The destination project needs a free site slot in its package, enough storage, and support for what the website uses, such as custom domains, Business Apps and its number of pages. An account can have only one Free website.
Usage and quota already used (bandwidth, builds, extra containers) stay with the old project, and wallet balances don’t move with the website. To move money, use Move balance between projects.
A website on a paid package may stop responding briefly while it moves, and members who had access to only this website in the old project lose it. The same website can move again after 24 hours.
If something goes wrong
I don’t see “Move to another project”
Only project owners and admins see it. Editors and people with access to just this website can’t move it.
There is no project to choose
You need another project in the same account where you are an owner or admin. Create one first, then come back.
It says the destination project already has all its websites
Upgrade the destination project’s package or buy an extra site for it, or delete a website you no longer use there.
It says the website was moved recently
A website can move once every 24 hours. Wait until the time shown, then try again.
It says there is unpaid usage
Top up the wallet of the project that owes usage, then try again.
It gives another reason the website can’t move yet
“This website is linked to a Wi-Fi Hotspot”: unlink the website from the Wi-Fi location first. · “task(s) running (build, publish)”: wait for them to finish, then try again. · “This project’s package isn’t offered in the website’s region yet”: choose another project, or change the destination project’s package.
