- Go to the Managed Cache menu and click Create cache.
- Engine: ThailandHosting Cache or Valkey 8.1 / 9. ThailandHosting Cache is our own engine that works with Redis clients, commands and
.rdbfiles; Valkey is open source and speaks the same commands as Redis. ThailandHosting Cache does not include Pub/Sub; if your app needs it, choose Valkey. New caches can no longer use Redis 7.2. Caches already running Redis 7.2 keep running as they are. - Instance: name the server (used as the name for connecting), pick a size by the RAM your data needs, from 512 MB. There’s no disk to pick: you get an SSD for the AOF file at twice the RAM (at least 10 GB).
- Connectivity: connecting inside the VPC always works. Turn on a public endpoint as well if you need to connect from outside.
- Backup: choose the schedule and how many backups to keep, as for Managed Database.
- Check everything, then click create.
You can create it when the project’s wallet holds enough to pay for all the project’s services for at least 24 hours after it’s created. You pay for the vCPU, RAM and the disk we size for it. You can resize later (the cache restarts once) and the disk grows along.
Data is written to disk (AOF) every second, so it survives a restart. Once the data fills the RAM you chose, writes are refused: size with headroom or give keys an expiry.
