Each room gets its own Wi-Fi code for the whole lease
Tenants who moved out still use the Internet because the whole building shares one password. Give each room its own code that ends with the lease, limit speed and devices, and keep the log a dorm must have by law.
A code for each room
- With the dorm system in Business Apps, monthly tenants get their room’s code for the whole lease automatically.
- Or print 30-day codes each month, with devices (1–10) and download and upload speed per code.
- Sell faster passes or passes for more devices as items in your shop.
- When a tenant moves out, cancel the code straight away.
The whole building, every floor
- Keep routers that check with RADIUS, such as MikroTik, UniFi and Omada, one per floor if you like, up to 16 per location.
- Or place a Hotspot Server with access points of any brand, and connect several Internet lines to one machine.
- Priced by the devices online at once: S 30, M 100, L 300, XL 1,000 devices, from $9.90 a month.
The log a dorm must keep
- Every connection is logged and kept for 90 days, or 1 year if you choose, sealed in a hash chain.
- Search by room code, IP or MAC and export CSV when an official asks.
Frequently asked questions
Which package suits a 40-room dorm?
It depends on the devices online at once. With 2 devices per room, package M (100 devices), $19.90 a month, is usually enough. Enter the rooms and access points when you add the location and the console suggests one.
Can I limit each room to 2 devices?
Yes. Set 1–10 devices per code, and download and upload speed for each code.
Can tenants pay for Internet through the system?
Yes, with Business Apps: sell Wi-Fi passes as items and tenants pay by PromptPay straight into the dorm’s account.
